Happy Thanksgiving from The American Cancer Society

Because of your generosity and compassion, the American Cancer Society has made incredible progress toward ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. For more than a century, they’ve been at the forefront of cancer research and patient support. But each step forward, every individual and family they are able to help, each breakthrough in cancer research, is only possible because of the support of people like you. Here is just some of what you've helped us accomplish this year:   From the American Cancer Society family to yours, thank you for being an essential part of our mission. This holiday season, we’re giving thanks to YOU. With deep gratitude, Your American Cancer Society

Sink the Sims Wrap Up Party

From Stingray, RFL Lead and Media Partner on the ACS Second Life Discord server: WRAP UP PARTY INFO Join us to wrap up the 2025 Relay For Life season on Wednesday at 4pm SLT on RFL Advocacy ! That's right - because we didn't get a chance to spend as much time on RFL Advocacy during Relay Weekend, we decided that we should make up for lost time by partying hard and sinking it back into the ocean, where it apparently likes to spend its time anyway!  So grab your swimming (or floating) gear and chill with your fellow Relayers with DJ Purelife & your ACS Leadership Team as we present awards and reveal the 2026 RFL of SL Theme! Campsite Achievements & VOTE!

VOTE ON THE 2026 RELAY FOR LIFE OF SECOND LIFE THEME You can vote by identifying your first and your second favorite from the 4 choices. https://forms.gle/uU641matdzPAFYrE6   Congratulations team! We earned both Relay campsite awards this year. The first award is the Cancer Education award given to teams who display important information from Cancer.org all throughout their build. It is important to share this vital information to help encourage everyone to get screened for the most common types of cancer, and to share resources where caregivers and diagnosed friends or family can learn who to call and where to get help for treatment, lodging, and general support. The second award is the Thematic Campsite award given to teams whose build fits the yearly theme and this year's was "Magic of Hope." Big thank you to Baiku (ishizko), Tai (taialia), and team co-captain Nuku Xia for helping out with the build this year! ...

Luminaria - REMEMBER Ceremony - Saturday, 9pm SLT (Pacific)

The REMEMBER Ceremony will be held at 9pm SLT on Saturday, June 7, 2025.  It is a very moving time at the Relay. During this hour-long ceremony, the track falls into darkness and silence, with everyone on all of the Relay regions asked to not chat in open text or local open voice chat, for all activities and events to cease, and for all attendees to walk the track in silence or to stand in quiet respect alongside the track. Music will play and names of those we remember will be read.  The Remember Ceremony - also known as the Ceremony of Hope or Luminaria Ceremony - is a reminder of why we Relay. It is a time to remember those we have lost to Cancer.  It is a time to pay tribute to men, women, and children around the world whose lives have been affected by this disease.  It is a time for each of us to reflect on how this disease has touched us personally.  It is a time for us to look inside ourselves with quiet reflection and find hope.  Because no matter w...
